This is the first picture of the new Nissan X-Trail, which will debut in concept form at the
Geneva Motor Show next week.
It’s called the Hi-Cross, and Nissan has only revealed this teaser for the moment, but it’s easy to see that the new X-Trail will be far sleeker than the old model.
It gets larger wheelarches, a pronounced swoop to the front wings and narrower windows with a distinctive angular C-pillar.
Learning lessons from the smaller Qashqai, the new X-Trail will put much greater focus on car-like driving dynamics and ride comfort. However, it will still be able to cut it in the rough stuff thanks to full-time four-wheel drive.
Engines will include a 1.6-litre turbo petrol as well as new small- capacity diesels with stop-start.
A production version of the Hi-Cross will be revealed early next year, with sales set to start in autumn 2013. For more details click
